BCI Mineral’s Mardie Salt and Potash project is a large-scale, multi-generational solar evaporation operation on the Pilbara Coast of Western Australia. It will be the third largest salt mine in the world.
How is Viking helping to power the project?

Viking Industrial provided a complete turnkey package to power the newly expanded 400-bed camp, along with numerous other power needs across the site. We supplied 4 x 450kVA prime generators, a 30,000L fuel system for the main camp, a 100kVA standby unit for a critical admin building, and 2 x 20kVA generators to an on-site contractor for the bore fields site. In addition to the purchased generators, Viking supplied several rental generators, distribution boards, and fuel storage for temporary power on site.
Following our success with the camp, another existing contractor engaged us to supply the power generation compound for the seawater intake pump station. Viking provided 4 x 650kVA prime and 1 x 130kVA generators to pump seawater into various evaporation ponds.
What’s ahead at Mardie Salt & Potash?

Viking’s site presence is continually growing, and we have been engaged by BCI Minerals directly to complete routine servicing and maintenance of the camp generators.
