Cross River Rail is the largest infrastructure project in Queensland’s history. Currently under construction, the project has progressed from the early stages and is now focused on major works. With more than a dozen worksites currently active, the Cross River Rail project is now well on its way to being delivered.
Why is the Cross River Rail project important?

The Cross River Rail project will deliver a new 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills in Brisbane, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD. This will unlock a bottleneck at the core of the city’s transport network, transforming the way travellers commute across the whole of South East Queensland.
How is Viking helping to power the project?

Viking Industrial’s Rental division has supplied a number of our generators to power various site works. These include a 1250kVA genset for power tunnel boring scrubbers and a 600kVA for a gantry crane. A 300kVA, 200kVA and an 80kVA genset are also on hire for various uses such as powering offices and standby power for pumps.
