Background
Cross River Rail is the largest infrastructure project in Queensland’s history. The project is a new 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills in Brisbane, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD. The project will unlock a bottleneck at the core of the city’s transport network, and it will transform the way we travel across the whole of South East Queensland.
Cross River Rail has progressed from early works into major construction and is now well on its way to being delivered. The project is now active at more than a dozen work sites.
The Viking solution
Viking Industrial’s Rental division has supplied a number of our generators to power various site works. These include a 1250kVA genset for power tunnel boring scrubbers and 600kVA for a gantry crane. A 300kVA, 200kVA and an 80kVA are on-hire for various uses such as powering offices and standby power for pumps.
